History
In the 1920s, the Baker Equipment Company set up operation in the northeast corner of Scott’s Addition. Baker Equipment was known for many things, including their manufacturing and sales of industrial vehicles, most notably, fire trucks.
After operating for 3 generations, Baker Equipment sold the facility to a local developer who created 31 residential contos within the building envelope. The Baker Atrium Lofts were operated as apartments until purchased by the current owners in 2019.
Fulfilling the original intent of the first developer, Clachan Properties began renovating Hook and Ladder in 2024 in order to complete the conversion from apartments to condominiums.
A new roof, an overhauled exterior, a repaved parking lot, new space added in the atrium, and renovated unit interiors are just some of the improvements that the developer made to bring these condominiums to market.
Now offering Scott’s Additions newest ‘for sale’ project, Hook and Ladder’s sleek and industrial look blends seamlessly with the brick and beam warehouse aesthetic Scott’s Addition is known for.
