Did you know…houseplants can help make a space feel calmer, more inviting, and connected to the outdoors?

Just around the corner from Hook & Ladder, PlantHouse is part plant shop, part creative workshop, and the perfect excuse to bring home another plant you definitely have room for.

Pick out something new for your loft, build your own terrarium, or make an afternoon of one of their hands-on workshops. Bringing green indoors while supporting local business is never a bad idea, especially when its only a short walk from your front door.

Loft #4 has a layout that’s anything but ordinary.

An open floor plan, soaring ceilings, skylights, and original architecture give the space plenty of character, with natural light that makes it easy to imagine a few houseplants taking over.

Picture hosting friends around the kitchen, having a quiet morning with the whole loft to yourself, or coming home after a long day and heading down to the private resident gym.

Before it became Boulevard Burger & Brew, this building was home to Kelly’s Jet System Hamburgers in the late 1950s, opening before Richmond’s first McDonald’s.

What makes it even more nostalgic is that so much of the original building is still there: the terrazzo floors, seafoam green tile, and other mid-century details. These weren’t recreated, they’ve been here all along.

That’s one of the things we love about Scott’s Addition. You can grab dinner on a Friday night and end up learning a little bit about the neighborhood history at the same time.

Living at Hook & Ladder means being surrounded by places with stories like this, and we think that’s pretty special.

Have you ever noticed the original details inside Boulevard Burger & Brew? If not, go grab a burger and a brew after your tour of Hook & Ladder Lofts and imagine yourself living in Scott’s Addition. Tap the link in bio
